swipes: a friendr meme

Any new arrival to the city has seen the ad for a free app popping up on their devices, and anyone who's been around for a while probably has a profile and has used it a bit. It's almost universal in the city - Friendr, a friend-finder and/or dating app. If characters choose to install it, they will fill out a short bio and parameters for what they're looking for, upload a snap of themselves, and then proceed to browse for matches. This is a typical swipe-left-or-right type app. The default color scheme can be seen below, but the Friendr app has a wide variety of themes, so feel free to customize with colors and patterns as you see fit, but do not remove the credit line out of respect for the creator of the code.

It's my model number. Honestly, I'm not even sure what it stands for.

Interesting, usually model numbers have..an actual number to it. But, are you really a droid--robot, I mean.

My number is 0167. But the DRN stands for the model type.

The other models...are they not as humanoid in appearance as you?

We have robots from where I'm from, but they're called droids and none have looked fully humanoid as you.

Preferences are applicable to anyone seeking love. If you don't mind my curiosity, what's the design purpose of a robot with a synthetic soul such as yourself?

To make us better police officers. To be able to make intuitive leaps of logic and feeling. To know the value of a life and move forward.

To have compassion for those you protect, right? That's more than some humans have. I imagine it wouldn't be difficult to focus that appreciation for life on one person for you to love.

You find someone who makes you feel human but inspires you to be so much more. You learn together, and sometimes it's difficult, but it's always worth it to be with them.
