Hi everyone! Welcome to the Prijata Pregame post!

Prijata is a holiday in Riverview celebrating platonic love - essentially, it's a celebration of friendship, geared at showing appreciation for existing friends and finding new ones. One of the main staples of Prijata is gift giving, and the Government of Riverview gets into the spirit of it by giving small gifts to residents as well.

The pregaming post is here to help plan for the gifts your characters will give and receive at the holiday! Here's how to use the pregaming post:

● Post a top-level with your character's name.
● Tag other characters with gifts that your character will give theirs during Prijata.
● Alternately, leave a player suggestion of a small gift for the other character to receive, even if you don't have CR.

While gifts from one character to another can be whatever the character would give, gift suggestions for items to come from the Government should be relatively small, and can include vouchers for services in Riverview, small items, or generic items from the character's canon. For example, a character could not receive their mother's locket for Prijata, but they could get a tube of their favorite brand of lipstick from home.

The one catch to the pregame post? In the spirit of the holiday, you cannot suggest gifts for your own characters, not even government-given ones. All suggestions should go out to other characters!

what does it look like to characters?

From the character's perspective, on the first day of the Prijata celebration, they will receive a basket from the government of any suggested gifts. There will be a similar prompt on the monthly mingle for newly arrived characters to receive gifts and gift suggestions after their acceptance in the June app cycle.

For gift-giving between characters with existing CR, this can be played out however the two players want - handwaved, played on the Prijata mingle, a private log, IC inbox, or whatever works best!

To help people with CR for my girls (sorta), here are the basics of what would be clearly and presently obvious to what they'd like.

Lola loves shiny objects (jewelry), clothes, cooking tools, rare ingredients for foods, upbeat music she's never heard of but you can dance to, and very fruity alcohol. She's all about things to be enjoyed or cherished and anyone that knows her shouldn't have much trouble if they've ever been out and about with her.

Lauren... isn't quite as obvious, cause she's still not sure who she should be without all the stuff from home. She likes puzzles and things to keep her mind occupied, and small things to decorate her room. She's interested in clothes and jewelry (but doesn't buy herself much, just windowshops often), and keeps spending time reading about other worlds and complex sciences in the libraries. If that helps anyone pick stuff.

Lauren is a little more closed off to revealing her desires than Lola, obviously.
(Note: None of this is all the stuff they would want/appreciate, just the stuff that'd be plainly obvious to those that spend any time with them.)

For ideas:

Makoto loves to read so books are always a safe bet. (Motorcycles are probably a little beyond the scope of this but that's another interest of hers). Alternatively stationary because she is a good student who takes notes on everything.

For Shalimar anything fashion-based isn't a bad bet. Clothes/make-up/beauty products are all good - but she is also a fighty type so there's that too. Anyone who gifts her anything for a cat is likely to get told off, if she can figure out it was them.

For Makoto from Hiccup: a somewhat philosophical book about justice and Riverview police procedural, reconciling the laws here with the moral compasses of so many different cultures. A hand-made embossed leather-bound journal and a nice pen.
