Hi everyone! Welcome to the Prijata Pregame post!

Prijata is a holiday in Riverview celebrating platonic love - essentially, it's a celebration of friendship, geared at showing appreciation for existing friends and finding new ones. One of the main staples of Prijata is gift giving, and the Government of Riverview gets into the spirit of it by giving small gifts to residents as well.

The pregaming post is here to help plan for the gifts your characters will give and receive at the holiday! Here's how to use the pregaming post:

● Post a top-level with your character's name.
● Tag other characters with gifts that your character will give theirs during Prijata.
● Alternately, leave a player suggestion of a small gift for the other character to receive, even if you don't have CR.

While gifts from one character to another can be whatever the character would give, gift suggestions for items to come from the Government should be relatively small, and can include vouchers for services in Riverview, small items, or generic items from the character's canon. For example, a character could not receive their mother's locket for Prijata, but they could get a tube of their favorite brand of lipstick from home.

The one catch to the pregame post? In the spirit of the holiday, you cannot suggest gifts for your own characters, not even government-given ones. All suggestions should go out to other characters!

what does it look like to characters?

From the character's perspective, on the first day of the Prijata celebration, they will receive a basket from the government of any suggested gifts. There will be a similar prompt on the monthly mingle for newly arrived characters to receive gifts and gift suggestions after their acceptance in the June app cycle.

For gift-giving between characters with existing CR, this can be played out however the two players want - handwaved, played on the Prijata mingle, a private log, IC inbox, or whatever works best!

Even though this is a celebration of platonic love, Victor would never pass up the chance to spoil James. And anyway, he considers James his best friend along with the man he loves. So there. It still counts :P

Any excuse is a good excuse for spoiling!!! Jim will also get Victor a few gifts. Possibly get carried away and get him a lot of gifts. I'll have to think on it and then will tell you what he gets, hehe.

But yes he will be super excited about those. And he'll wear the bracelet all the time obviously because he's a dork.

he's also gonna throw in a little tabletop fountain. jim is always out there Doing Stuff. he's on missions and running departments and getting chomped by river monsters. finn knows basically nothing about how to relax, and he's bad at it, and jim generally seems pretty chill to him anyway. but it's a thing that looks nice and he wants to give jim a nice thing, so.

One 'couple package' gift certificate to Riverview's nicest spa, so Jim can take an R&R day with Victor.

A bad-ass leather spike collar and leash set for OTHER JOHN, because if his name is going to be John he has to be a bad-ass.

An antique pinball machine John rescued from a secondhand store that's been fixed up, repainted, and made usable again. Many swears were sworn.

Poe gets Kirk a matching set of clear glasses and mugs with the shuttle team's insignia laser-cut into the side, and a note that says "Because sometimes it's better to drink at home."

Chyler (awkwardly) gives him a small model of the shuttle she found in a local shop filled with aerial hobbyist stuff.

Carson sends a book of collected fairytales from various worlds for Lucy, and a basket of sweets, chocolates, and a nice wine for Kirk and Victor, with a note that says "I do hope you both like wine."
