swipes: a friendr meme

Any new arrival to the city has seen the ad for a free app popping up on their devices, and anyone who's been around for a while probably has a profile and has used it a bit. It's almost universal in the city - Friendr, a friend-finder and/or dating app. If characters choose to install it, they will fill out a short bio and parameters for what they're looking for, upload a snap of themselves, and then proceed to browse for matches. This is a typical swipe-left-or-right type app. The default color scheme can be seen below, but the Friendr app has a wide variety of themes, so feel free to customize with colors and patterns as you see fit, but do not remove the credit line out of respect for the creator of the code.

What have you tried in regards to finding more interests?

Well I've made it through the past few holidays. There's usually a lot happening. Plenty of chances to try something new.

Paintball worked out well. Got the hang of sledding pretty fast. I'm still figuring out where I stand on dancing. Cooking isn't turning into a regular thing, but I think I'm getting better.

You have any interests you think make good suggestions? I'm usually open.

I have not been here very long myself but it does seem that they are very diverse with lots of activities, perhaps too many that it's overwhelming if you're trying to find real interests.

Paintball and sledding are definite winners though. It seems like you have good tastes in interests thus far. I'm pretty good at dancing but I had to be where I'm from but cooking, I haven't even tried that myself really. Not real cooking either. What can you make?

People usually think my interests are really boring, I might not be the best person to go to for suggestions. I'm a bit bias to my own interests, though.

Exactly. Hard to pin down where to start.

I've worked my way up to eggs. I'm good with instructions, but there are a lot of things in cooking that I think you only get a handle on with practice. Sooner you start trying, the sooner you can... scramble eggs.

Can I be interested in what your interests are? I mean, you don't have to say if you don't want. I get it. Kind of curious now, though.

To be honest, I always had people to make food for me or I just bought food to eat.

My interests are history, ancient Welsh kings. I suppose the latter is less so now. I've studied a lot of things related to it like ley lines.

They make the cut for special occasions. If I ended up in one every week, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't live.

Been working. Shooting river monsters. Trying not to trade any more flowers around. Where have you been?

I find looking for interests incredibly difficult myself.

The hardest part is usually figuring out where to start. I never thought much about it before. Turns out there are a lot of roads to go down.

I think people expect you to jump at any choice when there's too many and you don't know which one's right for you. Especially when you never had the choice to begin with.

I think people who expect that don't know much about what it's really like to never have a choice.

It's good that they don't. Kind of hard to explain it to them, though.

What kind of things have you found that you do like? In trying your new interests, I mean.

Things with a lot of energy usually turn out well. Sledding. Paintball. I got hit in the face in a mosh pit last month. It was in a fun way. I think.

Puzzles aren't bad if they take thinking over. Haven't tried a lot of books or anything yet. I'm good at sitting still, but I don't always like doing it.

Mosh pits are always fun. I spent a fair amount of time there when I was younger. Have you tried just running and listening to music? It always works for me to get out extra energy.

Have you tried 3-d puzzles? The sort that you need to be like moving to do? It's too bad we're not home. I'd set you up with Pokemon Go.

I feel like we'd have a good crowd if we got together everyone in this city who runs to burn off energy. You're at least the fifth one I've met. Not including me. But you know. Can't meet myself.

I don't know what Pokemon Go means. 3-d puzzles sound interesting, though?

We seriously should have some sort of club. People do that back home sometimes.

I wonder if Tony Stark could make Pokemon Go, actually. I mean I still have it on my phone, it just doesn't work here. It's a game where you run around collected fake creatures called Pokemon. It's fun and a good way to be active.

3-D puzzles are puzzles that are put together in all three dimensions. My Dad loves them. They also can be really hard so he calls it a good brain workout.
