I mean, yeah, he could've decided to follow after Juicy Wizard once the train got blown up. [None of this makes sense without context] But I don't... between not being chill with hero worship for one big ol' fucking reason that starts with S and ends with azed and the fact he clearly needs someone who isn't emotionally constipated to look after him, it's pretty stressful.

[ Honesty hour is not fun. Honesty hour is very bad. Cisco would really like to just shut up now, but he's pretty sure Taako's feeling unhappy and bad right now, and it's his fault for pressing the issue, and that just won't do. ]

Somebody once told me... making a choice between two people you care about is the hardest dilemma you can ever face.

[ Was that somebody Eobard? Yes. Does Cisco feel mildly ill repeating that statement and endorsing it? Also yes! But it had helped him at the time so he's just gonna have to suck it up. ]

If you had picked Lup, and living to fight another day, that wouldn't make you a bad person.

[Truth is subjective, Taako knows this, so he understands that when Cisco says he isn't a bad person, that's something that Cisco genuinely believes. It's a truth to him, but that doesn't make it a reality. And for all Cisco's trust issues, Taako has realized that he always tries to believe the best in people. He's an optimist like that.]

[ He doesn't see anything sweet about it; people aren't perfect, and trying to make the world better (or save the universe) isn't, either. Cisco doesn't know the correct answers to the Big Moral Questions. All he knows is that Taako is his friend, and that he was trying to do good, and that he's lost so much in that effort. ]

I don't know what I would've done. I'm really glad I haven't had to make the choices you have.

It probably was. I've made some okay calls, but also some really fucking bad ones. I'm just lucky 'cause my bad decisions only fucked over me and not, like, whole worlds.

Fortunately, the honesty elevator is going to do its part, too, because no sooner does he remember an incident but he is recounting it: ]
