Somebody once told me... making a choice between two people you care about is the hardest dilemma you can ever face.
[ Was that somebody Eobard? Yes. Does Cisco feel mildly ill repeating that statement and endorsing it? Also yes! But it had helped him at the time so he's just gonna have to suck it up. ]
If you had picked Lup, and living to fight another day, that wouldn't make you a bad person.

[Truth is subjective, Taako knows this, so he understands that when Cisco says he isn't a bad person, that's something that Cisco genuinely believes. It's a truth to him, but that doesn't make it a reality. And for all Cisco's trust issues, Taako has realized that he always tries to believe the best in people. He's an optimist like that.]

[ He doesn't see anything sweet about it; people aren't perfect, and trying to make the world better (or save the universe) isn't, either. Cisco doesn't know the correct answers to the Big Moral Questions. All he knows is that Taako is his friend, and that he was trying to do good, and that he's lost so much in that effort. ]
I don't know what I would've done. I'm really glad I haven't had to make the choices you have.
[ Wow... really not making things better. ]

You probably would've made pretty different ones, dunno if that's a bad thing or a good thing, but maybe it was better it was me.
[More than once, Davenport looked to Taako to make the hard choices, looking he'd choose the pragmatic option, even if it wasn't the morally correct one.]

Not really what I meant, bubbale. You're too much like Lup in this kinda thing, those fuck ups would've eaten at you forever.

[ Cisco's pretty sure he would've just gone plain crazy, if he'd been through half the stuff Taako had. Even moreso than he already is. ]
Shit this conversation got depressing fast, let's talk about something else, who is the second best baker in this place? Since you're the best, obviously.

[Sometimes. Which is probably depressing in and of itself but... he doesn't mind, be able to talk to Cisco about this shit.]
Gonna have to go with Lup, don't even care about truth bullshit, I value my life way too highly to say anyone else.

[ Yes, Cisco did just say tbh out loud, in conversation, these are his life choices. And maybe he is leaning a little hard on the levity because he's trying to haul things back to a happier place. Fortunately, the honesty elevator is going to do its part, too, because no sooner does he remember an incident but he is recounting it: ]
So I was super hungry last week and got an eclair from the little place right by my workshop and it was a total affront. I cheated on you with another baker and the icing was grainy. Total disaster.

All you had to do was call cha boy and I would've hooked you up.

[It's not really any kind of hassle for him.]
