[ She looks away from him, pensive. ]

I see.

[ Then the idea of dragging him back to the Light is a pointless one. ]

[jedies]

[ Obi-Wan's expression softens. ]

It's all right to feel sympathy. Or even pity. The Dark Side is not an easy choice. But coming back to the Light isn't easy either. And it has to be made by them.

It seemed like an easy choice for him.

I feel sad for his mother and uncle...and his father. Hab thought his son could be saved. And I'm angry at Kylo Ren for throwing away his family.

[jedies]

Perhaps. I would not make such an assumption lightly though.

[ The Dark is always easier. But the Dark always takes more as well. Until there's nothing left. Obi-Wan has always been touched by the Light. He would always choose the Light. But he's been in enough Dark places to know. ]

I would be careful about anger. Anger can lead people down dangerous paths.

I'm angry I lost a friend and angry that Ren... [ No, don't argue. Obi/Wan knows more than her and she should take his advice. ]

I wouldn't have traded family for power.

[jedies]

No. But many would.

[ Obi-Wan runs a hand through his beard. ]

There's no point trying to understand his motivations without further information. You'll run yourself into circles that way.

No, there isn't. I haven't thought much about him until now..someone I'll have to eventually face. But not now.

[jedies]

Of that, I have no doubt. But not until you've had some training, hopefully.

[ Obi-Wan isn't against teaching her. But his heart can't handle taking on another padawan. He's lost too much to go through that. ]

Assuming I can get leave this place. Assuming Luke is still alive and assuming he says yes.

[ So many variables to take in, but she is hoping he says yes. Considering the last padawans were killed by Kylo Ren and considering he lost Ben...he could tell her no. He could tell her leave. But if he doesn't train her then damnit, she'll bring him to Leia. That much she could do. ]

[jedies]

[ Obi-Wan seems faintly amused by her cynicism. ]

What does the Force tell you?

[ Its no cynicism! It's frustration and it's a worst case scenario. Just a possibility, because given her luck it could happen.

And now she'll simply stare at him with some confusion. ]

I don't know? [ How does one listen to the Force? Meditation? Be in peril? ]

[jedies]

Tune out the situation and the future. Focus on the here and now.

[ There's a slight nod of her head. She pushes out thoughts of the future, focusing on the present...]

I need to ttrust you. [ To let him guide her until she can figure a way. ] And to wait. S Why does she need to wait? She has no clue. ]

[jedies]

Well done.

[ His voice is kind and approving. ]

You must learn to trust the Force. It will guide you even when your path seems uncertain and dark.

[ Another slow nod. She has to trust in the Force, even when she has so many questions that have no answers...at least she has a guide now. At least she has someone she can learn from. ]

[ He shakes his head. ]

I am happy to pass along what I know. It ensures the survival of . . . what the Jedi were.

They're rarely talked about and not much is known about them. [ She'll stay away from other facts...he doesn't need to know. ]

[jedies]

[ Obi-Wan closes his eyes in pain. ]

I see.

On Jakku, I mean. I've never traveled beyond the outer rim. Points of interest are usually about which smuggler has a bounty on their head, or looking for new trade routes.

[ Please feel better, please. ]

[jedies]

No, we don't normally have Jedi stationed there. Too close to Hutt space and . . . accidents.

[ Hutt-assassination, to be frank. Obi-Wan gets along with the Hutts, but he pities anyone else dealing with them. ]

The Hutts? They're not a big threat. At least I don't think they are. [ They're not spoken about on Jakku, so she could be wrong....]

[jedies]

[ Were the Hutts diminished too? Maybe the future wasn't all that bad. ]

In my time, they had strict control of their routes.

[talentedscavenger]

[ The notion of "in my time" sounds so odd to her. Time was a straight line, never going back, only forward...but that doesn't seem to be the case. ]

They don't anymore. Now it's more about The New Republic, and the First Order and which one of them hinders trading routes...or the different gangs.

[jedies]

[ Obi-Wan has had interesting experiences with time and space. Mortis showed him how vast the Force can be. And how easily it can change. ]

What is the First Order?

Evil. [ Litterally the first word that comes to her mind. ] Kylo Ren is part of the First Order, and his Master is Snoke. They want to rule the galaxy, essentially complete the goal of the old Empire.
