[ Were the Hutts diminished too? Maybe the future wasn't all that bad. ]

In my time, they had strict control of their routes.

[ The notion of "in my time" sounds so odd to her. Time was a straight line, never going back, only forward...but that doesn't seem to be the case. ]

They don't anymore. Now it's more about The New Republic, and the First Order and which one of them hinders trading routes...or the different gangs.

[jedies]

[ Obi-Wan has had interesting experiences with time and space. Mortis showed him how vast the Force can be. And how easily it can change. ]

What is the First Order?

Evil. [ Litterally the first word that comes to her mind. ] Kylo Ren is part of the First Order, and his Master is Snoke. They want to rule the galaxy, essentially complete the goal of the old Empire.

[jedies]

[ Evil is a strong word, but Obi-Wan can't deny it. ]

I suppose I should have expected nothing less.

[talentedscavenger]

There are other players involved but the ones who wanted me were Snoke and Ren.

[jedies]

[ Hmm. Collecting force-users? Still. Rey is too old to be molded. ]

It is hard to understand the scale without more details.

[talentedscavenger]

[Doesn't mean she can't be trained.]

I don't want to upset you again.

[jedies]

[ Obi-Wan sighs quietly. ]

It is far into the future. Most likely, all that I knew and loved has passed on into the Force. It is no longer my fight to bear.

[talentedscavenger]

[She has to think about this for a moment, picking and choosing her words carefully.]

The First Order built a star ship so great, it destroyed 3 planets. Starkiller base was destroyed, but they are willing to destroy as many lives as possible to gain control.

For Snoke and Kylo Ren...there are very few sensitive to the Force..let alone be able to use it. I didn't know what I could do until I had to force Kylo Ren out of my mind. I had never done anything like that before.

[jedies]

Your mental defenses must be strong.

[ The Dark are adept at forcing their will on others. Obi-Wan has been subject to a few. ]

The Dark always seeks control above all things.

[talentedscavenger]

Not strong enough. He still entered my mind....he.. [She took a deep breath, finding herself recalling the pain, the feelings..] He saw my fears and tempted me, then...something in my mind clicked and I was pushing back, I found his fears and pushed him out.

[She paused, gathering her thoughts..]

That hasn't changed.

[jedies]

And it's up to you to see that it never does.

[ Not that Obi-Wan is worried, but it bears repeating. ]

Up to me? [She gives him a puzzled look.]

Luke is a Jedi, not me. He...[She doesn't even know where she fits into this. If she would be trained to be a Jedi when Luke's the last one, and so many other things.] Is meant to keep the Dark Side at bay. Or destroy it.

[jedies]

One Jedi can keep the light going, but there is more to a Jedi than being a sentinel in the Dark. We're stronger when we're together. You're as important as anyone else.

[talentedscavenger]

[ Part of her wants to tell him she's no one, nothing of importance. But that's changed. She's meant to do something greater, even if she has a hard time believing in it. ]

There are days when that's hard to believe. [ Especially with the big concern being if Luke would train her. ]

[jedies]

It will always be hard to believe. Hard to accept. But the key to moving forward is not what you are, but who you wish to be.

[ Obi-Wan is a celebrated Jedi Master. The best at lightsaber combat. The first Jedi to fight a Sith in two thousand years and win. But at heart, he knows he is a failure. But that doesn't matter. How he feels is small compared to what he must do. What he must continue to strive for. ]

[ Who does she wish to be? That's a hard question...one she hasn't thought about. It's only been about surviving and staying alive long enough to be with her family. Then it became about finding Luke. The end goal was ultimately protecting her friends...protecting what she cared about most. ]

I don't know where to start with that.

[jedies]

Nobody does. It takes time to find yourself.

Perhaps Riverview can help with that.

[Could that be the reason why she was brought back? To find herself? To complete another task? Before going back to find Luke?]

Maybe. I won't rule it out.

[jedies]

Never rule out the possibilities.

...then it would withstand that is would be possible for me to have been here before.

[ Obi-Wan blinks, trying to parse that. ]

Do you mean this place in particular?

[talentedscavenger]

[ There's a slow nod of her head. ]

My friend, Poe, he said I was here before but I don't recall anything of this place.

[jedies]

[ So there are more people? Obi-Wan runs a hand through his beard. ]

I'm afraid I don't know much about that. The Force works in mysterious ways.
