[ If asked, Toph would have said she didn't care. She was apparently stuck here too and you didn't see her complaining about things, did you? So what if the sorry collection of tents reminded her of refugees escaping the war. It didn't mean anything. She's only here because she can be, and you better not forget it.

It's not like she can do much to help, anyway. First aid? She's not a waterbender, don't be dumb. Cooking? Forget it. The only thing she really can do is, well. ]

HEY! [ She's got one finger pointed at at someone down the tent rows, but considering she's not looking at anyone in particular it's hard to tell who. ] You better put that back, I know it's not yours. And don't even think about lying to me. I can tell.

[ Turns out, it's kind of hard to explain an airborne danger to someone who can't exactly see it. ]

A cloud? You're scared of a cloud?

[ And Toph's obvious derision isn't helping. Still, she can't help but notice the folks around her do seem genuinely worried. And it's dumb, but whatever. She's been around Aang enough to know that you can do a lot with just air. Not that she's going to tell anyone else that. Then they might think she's taking them seriously.

But she does step forward with a look of concentration and plants her bare feet against the ground, knees bent low. One sharp gesture upwards and an impressively large wall of solid rock shoots out of the ground in front of her. Coincidence? Probably not. ]

There. Are you safe from the scary cloud now?

[ Not really. But she looks so proud of herself. Do you want to be the one to tell her otherwise? ]

[ There are a lot of people running around, and Toph's mostly been tuning them out. Kids running around is a good thing, it means they can't be too scared. She can appreciate that kind of thing. And no one seems interested in bothering one little blind girl, so whatever.

At least until someone who apparently isn't looking to closely runs past and absently taps her with something. Toph pivots mid-step to give them a piece of her mind -- and finds herself moving. ]

What -- hey!

[ But the pull is getting stronger. Even when she tries to brace herself, feet actually sinking into the ground a bit, all she ends up doing is dragging a pair of furrows into the ground as she's dragged along. ]

What is this? Quit it!

[ That's not worry, forget it. That's just Toph getting mad. And tearing up more and more of the ground as she skids along, way more than should be possible for someone of her size. ]
