swipes: a friendr meme

Any new arrival to the city has seen the ad for a free app popping up on their devices, and anyone who's been around for a while probably has a profile and has used it a bit. It's almost universal in the city - Friendr, a friend-finder and/or dating app. If characters choose to install it, they will fill out a short bio and parameters for what they're looking for, upload a snap of themselves, and then proceed to browse for matches. This is a typical swipe-left-or-right type app. The default color scheme can be seen below, but the Friendr app has a wide variety of themes, so feel free to customize with colors and patterns as you see fit, but do not remove the credit line out of respect for the creator of the code.

It was exceedingly dangerous. I was fortunate to see many fascinating animals on the voyage North, however, and to meet some of the Native people of that land.

I do not know if there are any Oceans or Seas on this moon; perhaps someday we shall discover some, and you may see them then.

Fascinating animals? Of what sorts? Were the people kind, or hostile? Were your kingdoms unacquainted, before the journey?

I hope that I may. The tales I heard of the sea were such fantastic ones. Though, in sooth, some of the reason for that may have rested in the tellers.

[ Maia knows, even though he has never seen the sea or set foot on a sea ship, that sailors are supposed to elaborate the truth considerably ]

My mother's eldest sister ran away when she was young and became a sea captain. Perhaps someday I will see her ship.

There are great white Bears, whales of many sizes and colours, jellyfish nearly an arm's span across, and there are also tiny crustaceans and animalcules that can only be seen with a microscope. It is truly wondrous.

The few people we met were kind. Some knew of other explorers from our land that had come before us—their word for us was Kabloona, and they called themselves the Inuit. But I am afraid that they were ill-used by some of our men—it is a sad story, not best suited for this medium.

I shall have to research some of these creatures at the library, for I have never heard of a jellyfish or an animalcule.
