swipes: a friendr meme

Any new arrival to the city has seen the ad for a free app popping up on their devices, and anyone who's been around for a while probably has a profile and has used it a bit. It's almost universal in the city - Friendr, a friend-finder and/or dating app. If characters choose to install it, they will fill out a short bio and parameters for what they're looking for, upload a snap of themselves, and then proceed to browse for matches. This is a typical swipe-left-or-right type app. The default color scheme can be seen below, but the Friendr app has a wide variety of themes, so feel free to customize with colors and patterns as you see fit, but do not remove the credit line out of respect for the creator of the code.

Oh, good. So if you do run into a planet with dinosaurs you can just get the hell out of there.

Yet you studied them? For how long?

Just a little over ten years. Don't get me wrong, I like dinosaurs. Especially my pack of raptors. I just think everyone involved with the project was in a little over their heads, thinking they were completely in control of those animals.

Let me guess...a group a of people wanted to take control over something, believing them to be superior and then things go to hell?

More like they decided to create a "new" dinosaur from scratch, by piecing together the most interesting and dangerous genes they could think of from other dinosaurs, birds and reptiles, and somehow didn't expect it to go horribly wrong.

As you can likely guess, it wasn't pretty.

Of course no, because they're the ones who are in control, who are better, and cannot possibly think anything would go wrong.

I don't doubt it. I take it, this creature was eventually put down, right?

Right. Sure worked out their way in the end.

Not exactly. She was killed by another dinosaur.

...Was that a good or bad thing?

Good, I think. Honestly, I don't know if there'd have been another way of stopping her. At least not a way that avoided even more casualties.

I can't imagine how many lives were lost because of that.

What the people behind it? Were they eventually brought to some sort of justice or...?

Some of them, yes. It's complicated. The man who owned the park died during the evacuation efforts.

I didn't agree with all he did with that park, but he did try to help in the end. Counts for something, I guess.

At least he tried to help, even if it was towards the end.

There are some creatures beyond the wall--but I don't think they would be the same as dinosaurs. However, they are dangerous...so they do share that.

I know. I plan on making their acquaintance soon. Plus, I wanna see what else is beyond the walls.
