swipes: a friendr meme

Any new arrival to the city has seen the ad for a free app popping up on their devices, and anyone who's been around for a while probably has a profile and has used it a bit. It's almost universal in the city - Friendr, a friend-finder and/or dating app. If characters choose to install it, they will fill out a short bio and parameters for what they're looking for, upload a snap of themselves, and then proceed to browse for matches. This is a typical swipe-left-or-right type app. The default color scheme can be seen below, but the Friendr app has a wide variety of themes, so feel free to customize with colors and patterns as you see fit, but do not remove the credit line out of respect for the creator of the code.

It was a term created to describe an android that had broken free from the confines of their programming.

Yes. I know him from back in my world... but he does not seem to remember me. It's something I am working on figuring out myself.

That can happen. People can be brought here from different points in the same timeline, so while you might remember him, he may be from a point in time earlier than yours. Well, either that or he's from a completely different timeline.

When you met him, was he deviant already?

I see. It's good to know that this is a common occurrence. I was aware of timeline issues, but I suppose I did not think it would be quite so drastic.

Yes. He was the one who helped convince me to become a deviant, actually.

Some are more drastic than others. For instance, there's someone here who's from a hundred years ahead of me, and from a deviating timeline too.

Then it's likely he's just from an earlier point in time. Maybe you can help him become a deviant, this time around.

I am still learning that about myself. But I have discovered I do genuinely enjoy helping people. And dogs. I am quite fond of dogs.
