swipes: a friendr meme

Any new arrival to the city has seen the ad for a free app popping up on their devices, and anyone who's been around for a while probably has a profile and has used it a bit. It's almost universal in the city - Friendr, a friend-finder and/or dating app. If characters choose to install it, they will fill out a short bio and parameters for what they're looking for, upload a snap of themselves, and then proceed to browse for matches. This is a typical swipe-left-or-right type app. The default color scheme can be seen below, but the Friendr app has a wide variety of themes, so feel free to customize with colors and patterns as you see fit, but do not remove the credit line out of respect for the creator of the code.

Hell, she's had people telling her that nothing was happening, but here she was with a sleep debt the size of Elon Musk's fortune and guilt that wouldn't go away there.]

I guess. But I'm still working on solving it and fixing it.

Well, I definitely have all sorts of advantages here that I don't have at home. Like people who can do magic and are more familiar with portals and demons and sacred geometry and stopping the end of the world.

Demon and sacred geometry...if you're referring to the drawing of sigils, yes. Portals? No one on Thedas has ever devised a means of magical travel save putting one foot in front of the other.

Well, the ancient elves seem to have, but while the Eluvians are indeed a wonder, they area also a mystery. Perhaps in time we'll puzzle out how they work.

I guess they could be sigils, but Richard's expert... [Who may have been his not!dead!wife.] Called them 'sacred geometry. People have been using them for bilocation.

At least, I'm pretty sure they are.

Bilocation? That's a physical impossibility.

[He's going to need proof of that.]

More likely, they are using them to open a doorway through a realm in which physical location is drastically altered.

Well, we know that at least in one instance he was recorded as being in his room on video when a witness said that the person in question attacked him. Locked rooms on the opposite sides of complex. The only thing in common were the same symbols drawn on the wall that seem to act as the portal.

Ah ha! There you have it. A "Portal". You know, it is most likely not duplication, but a case of minor time travel.

From what Simon and other experts have said, it doesn't seem to be time travel. All of them have used the terminology of 'bilocation.'

On mine, we would as well, until recently, but bi-location would result in duplication.

Then there was no division. One was an illusion.

Illusions can't murder people. Or make them be found with no blood on their clothing from stabbing two people a hundred times.

No, but demons can, or spirits taking the form of another.

This kid was definitely not a demon. His whole thing is working against them.

Oh, yes. Of course, his intentions protect him from impersonation. My mistake.

No he wasn't impersonated. He admitted doing it.

True. I've never heard of a man summoning a demon to do his dirty work. Not once.

Never Simon. He's definitely fully anti-demon. He killed his parents because they were basically inviting demons into him and other kids. And he killed other people who were doing it to kids.

Besides, he's trying to help me stop it.

[And he'd made sure she'd touched the Horn of Tiamat, which everything inside of her was saying was important as hell.]

I'll concede I don't know this Simon well enough to assume.

[But I've been betrayed by those that close to me before. My own father. Against me, but if she wants to live in a fantasy world where someone would never stoop to something so beneath them even if they needed the power, or they felt they did at the very least, he's not going to stop her.

Now, if this Simon ever shows up, he might. Now it's not necessary.]
