swipes: a friendr meme

Any new arrival to the city has seen the ad for a free app popping up on their devices, and anyone who's been around for a while probably has a profile and has used it a bit. It's almost universal in the city - Friendr, a friend-finder and/or dating app. If characters choose to install it, they will fill out a short bio and parameters for what they're looking for, upload a snap of themselves, and then proceed to browse for matches. This is a typical swipe-left-or-right type app. The default color scheme can be seen below, but the Friendr app has a wide variety of themes, so feel free to customize with colors and patterns as you see fit, but do not remove the credit line out of respect for the creator of the code.

He didn't though. I mean, we're not together. Not like that. We can't be for a lot of reasons. Journalism ethics, Coralee, the fact that I believe and he doesn't...

But I can't just let him go, Rey. I care about him too much for that.

You're not the one letting go if he left you. He let go, and all you're left with is a hope that he'll come back...and you're waste your time with that.

Do you care more about him than your own well being?

That's not fair. And it's more than just about him personally. It's the story and the show and the possibility of the end of the world.

[And combined, yeah, she does care about them more than her well being. It's the reason she hasn't slept in two years.]

[Okay, that was way more harsh than Rey intended...]

The priorities in your life should be: saving the world with or without Richard, and caring about yourself--putting your own happiness first for once. Otherwise...you may end up regretting it.

I can't save the world without him. He's the key. All of this, it comes down to us. We're the center of this thing. And I might regret parts of it, but I'll never regret all of it. I just can't.

[It's a bit hypocritical of Rey to be texting such things to Alex, considering she's doing the very opposite of that. She was willing to pour more of herself into the Resistance, in fighting for the cause or for her own Jedi training, but when it comes to her own happiness, she short changes herself.]

I hope that's true. I hope you won't come to regret all of it.

Then I suggest if you find him, strap him down and keep him from running. At least until you're done saving your world.
