swipes: a friendr meme

swipes: a friendr meme

Any new arrival to the city has seen the ad for a free app popping up on their devices, and anyone who's been around for a while probably has a profile and has used it a bit. It's almost universal in the city - Friendr, a friend-finder and/or dating app. If characters choose to install it, they will fill out a short bio and parameters for what they're looking for, upload a snap of themselves, and then proceed to browse for matches. This is a typical swipe-left-or-right type app. The default color scheme can be seen below, but the Friendr app has a wide variety of themes, so feel free to customize with colors and patterns as you see fit, but do not remove the credit line out of respect for the creator of the code.

Code to post your character's bio is in the textbox below.

Friendr base code is by photosynthesis.

● Post up a top-level for your character with their Friendr profile and then go around and swipe left or right on everyone else's!
● This meme is for characters already accepted into the game to window shop other characters' Friendrs while they're all gathered conveniently into one place.
● This meme is GAME CANON, so any threads played out in this meme can be carried through into the actual canon of the game.
● Since this meme is game canon, open, and only for characters in the game, threads here can be used for either Activity Points or the monthly Activity Check.

But I suppose those kinds of stories could only really come from worlds that have the good aliens around to write them...or be written about. Otherwise people get too comfortable in being able to use them as automatic bad guys without the risk of offending anyone.

Some people will use anyone who is different as an automatic bad guy or enemy, just because they're different.

Believe me, I know. Quite a few of my friends have attracted the wrong kinds of attention just because they dared to not fit in with the norm.

I know a few aliens who'd never hurt anyone, who'd sacrifice everything they had to save an innocent.
A few of them have gotten notoriously good reputations with the public.
But there are massive groups of people that'd never trust them or anything they do, just because of what they are.
It sucks.

Right. People care more about what they are or what they look like than who they are. Some people are just too narrow-minded to appreciate the difference or why they shouldn't do that.

It sounds like you have a decent amount of experience with that too.

Not personally. But I have friends who are judged a lot based on how they look or on the rumours spread about them.
