swipes: a friendr meme

Any new arrival to the city has seen the ad for a free app popping up on their devices, and anyone who's been around for a while probably has a profile and has used it a bit. It's almost universal in the city - Friendr, a friend-finder and/or dating app. If characters choose to install it, they will fill out a short bio and parameters for what they're looking for, upload a snap of themselves, and then proceed to browse for matches. This is a typical swipe-left-or-right type app. The default color scheme can be seen below, but the Friendr app has a wide variety of themes, so feel free to customize with colors and patterns as you see fit, but do not remove the credit line out of respect for the creator of the code.

You more into hand-to-hand or melee weapons when you spar?

I usually spar hand-to-hand. It's what I'm most used to. You spar as well?

Yeah, a few times a week. It usually turns into my friend throwing me around towards the end. I always picked melee weapons up faster back home.

Didn't get a lot of hand-to-hand variety.

I'm sorry to hear that it usually ends like that. Melee is good too. I've done some with weapons, but I prefer hand to hand.

Would you like to learn how to do hand to hand?

Yeah, actually. I'd like to get better with it. I don't usually need it, but I'm pretty sure if I use that as an excuse not to practice, I'll end up in exactly the kind of situation where I'd need to be better at it to survive.

Great. I can definitely help with that. That does seem to be the way it works. It's better to know how to do it and never have to use it then to need it and not know it.

I am with the Perimeter Guard. I am member of Orientation Support and also assist with Search and Rescue if needed. As you can tell, everyone calls me Shiro.

So I take it you are a member of the Perimeter Guard as well?

I am. I'm with the RR-1 unit, but I also fall in with the regular guard when I can.

Everyone calls me Finn. Which is good. Since it's just my name.
