swipes: a friendr meme

Any new arrival to the city has seen the ad for a free app popping up on their devices, and anyone who's been around for a while probably has a profile and has used it a bit. It's almost universal in the city - Friendr, a friend-finder and/or dating app. If characters choose to install it, they will fill out a short bio and parameters for what they're looking for, upload a snap of themselves, and then proceed to browse for matches. This is a typical swipe-left-or-right type app. The default color scheme can be seen below, but the Friendr app has a wide variety of themes, so feel free to customize with colors and patterns as you see fit, but do not remove the credit line out of respect for the creator of the code.

Yeah, the flooding was a little worrisome. A friend from back home?

How's your first month been? Aside from the mess with the flooding.

A learning experience. This place is not like the Crown City or Eos.

What's it like where you came from?

Outside the Crown City the land is much more wild. Filled with dangerous beasts and daemons. Insomnia is a bit like the Quarantine: we have a wall protecting us from the outside.

Beings that spawn from darkness. They're powerful and dangerous, making it unwise to travel at night.

Sounds really unfun.
The wall here is suffocating enough, I can't imagine what it'd be like to live with one every day.

It never felt suffocating to me, but I suppose it could seem that way to some.

I come from a big city in a big country surrounded by other countries, and have had access to a decent few universes around mine. Being stuck in one small city's a lot different.

With that as the comparison, I can understand how this would feel suffocating.

Yeah, but I can also understand how you'd get used to those walls if you lived in them for so long.
It's not so bad here, at least as far as I'm concerned. It could always be worse.

Very true. Though I would prefer we maintain the peace we currently enjoy.
