swipes: a friendr meme

Any new arrival to the city has seen the ad for a free app popping up on their devices, and anyone who's been around for a while probably has a profile and has used it a bit. It's almost universal in the city - Friendr, a friend-finder and/or dating app. If characters choose to install it, they will fill out a short bio and parameters for what they're looking for, upload a snap of themselves, and then proceed to browse for matches. This is a typical swipe-left-or-right type app. The default color scheme can be seen below, but the Friendr app has a wide variety of themes, so feel free to customize with colors and patterns as you see fit, but do not remove the credit line out of respect for the creator of the code.

I wanted to help people that couldn't get help where they were. Didn't like the idea of world domination either, so that helped sell it.

And it got me further out than art school did. I got to see the world. More of it than I ever imagined.

I was talking about the marines. If I meant art school, I would've said charcoal. It's a little bit classier.

I wasn't around when they formed the Marines. Missed those years, unfortunately. Art school was my other choice, but... things happened.

I haven't been around quite as long. At least, I haven't been active.

Portraits, mostly. I've done some other things, penciled a few comics because people asked me to, but it's not really a professional thing. I do it for myself. Just to practice.

I love comics. I have boxes of them back home. They were a real pain in the ass to keep up with when I was posted. You're always months behind.

If I weren't a galaxy away it'd be real hard to avoid spoilers.

I can doodle planes. But only on scrap paper or takeout menus. There's something about a big, blank space that cramps my style.

Makes sense. I'm untalented. So I just use a camera.

Having cameras like that would have given me a shock if I'd seen them when I was starting out. We were lucky to go see the pictures.
