swipes: a friendr meme

Any new arrival to the city has seen the ad for a free app popping up on their devices, and anyone who's been around for a while probably has a profile and has used it a bit. It's almost universal in the city - Friendr, a friend-finder and/or dating app. If characters choose to install it, they will fill out a short bio and parameters for what they're looking for, upload a snap of themselves, and then proceed to browse for matches. This is a typical swipe-left-or-right type app. The default color scheme can be seen below, but the Friendr app has a wide variety of themes, so feel free to customize with colors and patterns as you see fit, but do not remove the credit line out of respect for the creator of the code.

It is a noodle soup from my world. My favorite, obviously.

I have never heard of it before. What is it like?

I have crossed paths with some who do not. Some people are just drawn to chaos.

There are many variations of it, but it's essentially a noodle soup with meat or fish broth with different toppings mixed in. Nothing has ever quite compared to the ramen in my hometown.

I suppose that is true. I always find it a bit unfortunate, they rarely seem like the type to ever know happiness.

I see. It sounds interesting. There are a lot of foods that people here seem to know, such variety is very new.

That is very true. I used to be one of those kinds of people myself, until I was able to find peace.

Oh? That is interesting. What is your world like, then?

What is it that helped you find peace, if I may ask?

My world is very far in Earth's past for most of those that come from Earth here, before all the technology existed that's apparently comparable to what is here.

I met a friend and mentor when I needed one the most, and he helped me find peace.
