swipes: a friendr meme

Any new arrival to the city has seen the ad for a free app popping up on their devices, and anyone who's been around for a while probably has a profile and has used it a bit. It's almost universal in the city - Friendr, a friend-finder and/or dating app. If characters choose to install it, they will fill out a short bio and parameters for what they're looking for, upload a snap of themselves, and then proceed to browse for matches. This is a typical swipe-left-or-right type app. The default color scheme can be seen below, but the Friendr app has a wide variety of themes, so feel free to customize with colors and patterns as you see fit, but do not remove the credit line out of respect for the creator of the code.

Technically no but it's close enough, I think. And even then, only half the time.

What sort of books suit your fancy?

I like stories about heroes, and travelers. Real or fictional. I like reading about the places they go and the things they discover. Even though I've done some of that myself, it's still fascinating to me.

No, not yet. I haven't been here that long, though.

Do you have any recommendations?

How about a story about a boy who didn't realize he was special, and then found out he was a legendary survivor from a battle that took place in a secret world he never knew existed, but that he was an undeniable a part of? There's friendship, and a little teen romance, adventure, some horror, and a lot of heart.

I've never heard of a story like that.
