swipes: a friendr meme

Any new arrival to the city has seen the ad for a free app popping up on their devices, and anyone who's been around for a while probably has a profile and has used it a bit. It's almost universal in the city - Friendr, a friend-finder and/or dating app. If characters choose to install it, they will fill out a short bio and parameters for what they're looking for, upload a snap of themselves, and then proceed to browse for matches. This is a typical swipe-left-or-right type app. The default color scheme can be seen below, but the Friendr app has a wide variety of themes, so feel free to customize with colors and patterns as you see fit, but do not remove the credit line out of respect for the creator of the code.

Not much. Not often, anyway. A lot of the simpler tissues were able to be regenerated enough to heal pretty well.

Well, the skin and stuff is healed... mostly. The eye's no good, though. It's completely useless.

All kinds! Any kinds, really. The kinds that can do things on their own and the kinds that need people to guide them. Or pilot them. I don't know much about robotics, but robots are a pretty incredible feat of human ingenuity.

robots aren't really a thing yet in the time i'm from but
we're getting there

To be honest, I'm getting to know him. We spent a lot of time apart. So far he seems like a great guy. Good looking, too.

we haven't got them where i'm from
except in tv shows
but i might or might not have been a little obsessed with them as a kid

I think people would notice. He's got both eyes, after all. That's a big giveaway.

It's not weird. I think, for me and Lyle at least, it's better for us to get to know each other now. We weren't rivals or anything, but I think it sort of felt like people were always comparing us as kids.

Yeah! They're a major technology. We use them for work that might be too dangerous or impossible for people to do on their own.

Unfortunately, mine's a replica. A car from the 20th century wouldn't be able to run. We don't use oil-based fuels. But the original Lancia 037 was a rally car. You know, for racing. It was kind of a big deal in 1983.

No. We moved away from that, for the most part.
