i. returning

[She's... back. It's not really surprising after everything that happened, but it feels like so much more time has passed than really has. She dresses a little smarter, a little less like a street orphan, long hair pulled back into a ponytail. She doesn't really have a plan, anywhere to go, so she stops by the coffee shop. There are names and faces, people she probably owes explanations to, but that's for later.

For the moment, she just buys a cup of coffee and a cherry danish and sits by the window, watching the flow of people. She wonders if the people she knew are all still here, wonders how many of them are mad at her for leaving. She does want to at least check in on them, and there are a couple she feels like she owes apologies to.

She doesn't know what to do about Natasha. She pretends that things are easy, a smile at someone that happens to look her way. Maybe it's a joke, maybe she's serious, it's hard to tell:]

You come here often?

ii. lizard hunting

[When the chaos happens, as it always inevitably does, Ava lets herself be drawn into it. She doesn't answer the Perimeter Guard's call, but she helps.

It's uncomfortable, feels like ashes on her tongue. She doesn't wear a costume now, but she's there helping people. Putting herself between the threat and everything else. To anyone that's seen her fight before, there's a shift to it. She's more vicious, but mostly more reckless. Before she had two swords, but now one is shorter, more a sort of curved long knife. Her eyes still glow bright blue.

The way energy bites through scales and flesh is heavy on the air. Blood wet on her fingers, and it's all twisted in her chest. Before there was less weight to it, but she can't help thinking that she's a monster, too. Where's the difference, really? Scales, compared to energy that dances blue and electric. She used to think there was a difference between monsters and people, now she's not sure where she fits on that line.]

Hey. You okay over there? [Her voice is low, quiet as she calls to the person she'd caught a glimpse of as the lizard lunged for a shadow. She doesn't want to call anymore attention than they have to.]

iii. disaster relief

[She volunteers to help with setting up shelters. It's quiet work, which she likes, but it's raining, which isn't the most conducive to construction projects. But with the flooding, there's not much choice: they need additional shelters, and they need them fast. She even uses her powers as she can, far less shy about it than she's been before. She's still shaky on her control, but a little bit better now, enough to be useful in this sort of situation.

And she might be quiet, but she does check in on other people from time to time, pausing to offer someone a bottle of water. Her bright red hair makes her pretty easy to pick out, and there's something effortless to how she moves. She doesn't explicitly take charge, but she's there if people need her, working on getting the roof into place as the rain pounds on corrugated metal.]

iv. wildcard!

[Hit me up with whatever. Instead of settling into the residential building, she'll settle into a car of the SkyTram in the abandoned area. Any of her prior CR that had her most-recent username can text her, or just run into her anywhere, literally or figuratively. She'll definitely check out the street market at some point.]
