swipes: a friendr meme

Any new arrival to the city has seen the ad for a free app popping up on their devices, and anyone who's been around for a while probably has a profile and has used it a bit. It's almost universal in the city - Friendr, a friend-finder and/or dating app. If characters choose to install it, they will fill out a short bio and parameters for what they're looking for, upload a snap of themselves, and then proceed to browse for matches. This is a typical swipe-left-or-right type app. The default color scheme can be seen below, but the Friendr app has a wide variety of themes, so feel free to customize with colors and patterns as you see fit, but do not remove the credit line out of respect for the creator of the code.

I sort of gather up energy from around me and then I can use it to make a shield or little projectiles. Or heal people.

I wonder if you could find someone else with similar powers here, who you could have a nice fair boxing match with. That'd be awesome.

i know someone here that can do something similar - she can move molecules in the air to create shields, like they're made of air bubbles.

It is pretty cool. It's only developed the last few months. On my world, this stuff isn't something you're born with, usually, but most people who were affected by the event that kicked it off figured it out right away. I guess I was a late bloomer.

That's cool, though, the air bubble thing!

Oh man, that would be cool. I wonder if we put a call out on the network if we could find someone.

for us, powers tend to develop during your teenage years. usually fueled by very intense feelings, so obviously, teenagers get it the most.

oh yeah, we should. or someone who can tinker some dampener, or create a short-effect drug of some kind. could be useful in more serious ways, too

Mine showed up when I was in a state of heightened emotion, too. I was trying to stop a really serious fight, in the middle of a fire. It's different, but not completely different.

I bet my boyfriend could help with a power dampener. I think he might've done something similar at home after I died. I remember him talking about it. But we should still post and see if someone else has a useful ability.

I'm very much up for it too! We can do a join thing too if you'd like!
