swipes: a friendr meme

swipes: a friendr meme

Any new arrival to the city has seen the ad for a free app popping up on their devices, and anyone who's been around for a while probably has a profile and has used it a bit. It's almost universal in the city - Friendr, a friend-finder and/or dating app. If characters choose to install it, they will fill out a short bio and parameters for what they're looking for, upload a snap of themselves, and then proceed to browse for matches. This is a typical swipe-left-or-right type app. The default color scheme can be seen below, but the Friendr app has a wide variety of themes, so feel free to customize with colors and patterns as you see fit, but do not remove the credit line out of respect for the creator of the code.

Code to post your character's bio is in the textbox below.

Friendr base code is by photosynthesis.

● Post up a top-level for your character with their Friendr profile and then go around and swipe left or right on everyone else's!
● This meme is for characters already accepted into the game to window shop other characters' Friendrs while they're all gathered conveniently into one place.
● This meme is GAME CANON, so any threads played out in this meme can be carried through into the actual canon of the game.
● Much like the TDM, threads on this meme can count for Activity Points, but not the monthly Activity Check.

It's what I'm known for.

And you'd have it exactly right there. A lot of people in town would be what you'd call "fairy tale characters".

Known for? How many people do you have to bring back to get a reputation like that? It's the sort of thing that's illegal where I'm from.

Fairy tales in one world, real in another? All right, I'll buy that.

[Not the strangest thing he's ever heard.]

Does that make you a fairy tale character then?

It's not exactly common where I'm from, either. Thus gaining a reputation for doing it at all.

Hardly. I'm in the horror section.

Reputation like that gets you put in jail on my world.

[Noting that he didn't confirm he actually made a single successful attempt. He can't really wrap his head around fitting himself into some fictional genre.]

Still part of someone's story, then. What are you doing mixed in with a bunch of fairy tales?

[Was that hyperbole or metaphor? Ed can't really tell at this point.]

I have to say, it’s pretty disappointing how common resurrecting the dead is in other lands. Just how many people do it in your land?

My story. Not to brag, but I’m the title character.

And that is a long explanation. The short version is, because I can revive the dead, and magic can’t.

Trying gets you put in jail, can't say I've ever seen anyone succeed.

[He can say that, because he hasn't seen it.]

In a story someone else wrote, so you're a character in their story. About you.

[This is starting to give him a headache. However, now he's very interested.]

That sounds a little backwards, science is bound by laws. How can you revive the dead when people with magic can't?

Still seems pretty common, if you're putting people in jail just for trying it.

It's. My. Story. And yes, someone in another world wrote a version of it, but it's not the same. If it helps, think of it in the vein of the theory of multiverse.

[he shrugs, not that you can see that over text] Magic is bound by laws as well, and one of them is that magic can't bring back the dead.
