swipes: a friendr meme

Any new arrival to the city has seen the ad for a free app popping up on their devices, and anyone who's been around for a while probably has a profile and has used it a bit. It's almost universal in the city - Friendr, a friend-finder and/or dating app. If characters choose to install it, they will fill out a short bio and parameters for what they're looking for, upload a snap of themselves, and then proceed to browse for matches. This is a typical swipe-left-or-right type app. The default color scheme can be seen below, but the Friendr app has a wide variety of themes, so feel free to customize with colors and patterns as you see fit, but do not remove the credit line out of respect for the creator of the code.

I like late 20th century cars. 1970s and 1980s. Back home I have a Lancia 037. I pilot mobile suits.

Yeah! 1983 was its big year. Mine's a replica of course. There's no way a 200 year old car would be able to run. I mean, how would I even fuel it?

Fuel hasn't actually changed that much and you could totally have a 200 year old car. I'm not sure how yet but I'll figure it out.

I do not. Well, they have toys of them so I assume that's somewhere in our future.

Fuel's change a lot where I'm from. A 200 year old car wouldn't be able to run. We've almost eliminated the need for fossil fuels.

I'm also sure there are some differences between the cars you know and what I know. I'm naturally curious about all machines and buildings, because buildings are pretty cool.

I'm not an engineer or anything, but I'll do my best.

We've moved away from fossil fuels and built this elaborate ring around the Earth to harness solar energy. There are three elevators leading up to the stations where the orbital rings are. It's about a day's ride to get there via the train inside the tower. They're less elevators, in reality. Whoever thought of it was pretty clever.
