swipes: a friendr meme

swipes: a friendr meme

Any new arrival to the city has seen the ad for a free app popping up on their devices, and anyone who's been around for a while probably has a profile and has used it a bit. It's almost universal in the city - Friendr, a friend-finder and/or dating app. If characters choose to install it, they will fill out a short bio and parameters for what they're looking for, upload a snap of themselves, and then proceed to browse for matches. This is a typical swipe-left-or-right type app. The default color scheme can be seen below, but the Friendr app has a wide variety of themes, so feel free to customize with colors and patterns as you see fit, but do not remove the credit line out of respect for the creator of the code.

Code to post your character's bio is in the textbox below.

Friendr base code is by photosynthesis.

● Post up a top-level for your character with their Friendr profile and then go around and swipe left or right on everyone else's!
● This meme is for characters already accepted into the game to window shop other characters' Friendrs while they're all gathered conveniently into one place.
● This meme is GAME CANON, so any threads played out in this meme can be carried through into the actual canon of the game.
● Much like the TDM, threads on this meme can count for Activity Points, but not the monthly Activity Check.

I fix everything that I can get my hands on... or take it apart, it really depends.

Wow, I feel old because that was a little hard to read.

And yeah, if you ever need your bike a good look over, let me know.

srry!!!

Is this better? I'm used to just relying on voice when I need old people to get what I'm saying. Not that you're old old, but you definitely don't get how texting works.

It's super fancy, I bought it here, what sorta bikes are you used to?

[Freya chuckles softly.]

Wow, rude. I am not that old. I'm in my twenties. I just don't talk to people who abbreviate that much.

I'm used to a lot of sorts but for a reference think Earth 2016

I stopped using emojis as much as I used to, people didn't understand what I was saying.

*Because those aren't words Lola!*

Not too far off from home for me, then, but this is definitely fancier than Earth tech. Like a lot.

I like emojis. I don't think they should be used as a form of communication though. Mostly because people already miscommunicate enough as it is.

[Freya doesn't sound concerned.]

Sounds cool. I've been getting into tech here, it looks like same materials and similar designs. The difference is mostly in shells and materials of construction.

But text is hard, I can't see or hear how they say things? Emojis are a lot better at saying how you feel when you say something.

*Well that's comforting.*

I guess it's sorta similar, except it has doors and a roof when I want it to. And having the paneling change color when I want isn't a thing at home. I'm also kinda dumb so mechanic stuff is beyond me.

None of that sounds particular difficult based off of the mechanical standards that I know.

[She's tired of talking about how Emoji's aren't universal. Freya's finding that a lot of people here have trouble thinking outside of their own worlds. Which is weird considering they're in a new world with a new social structure built on a collection of cultures.]
