Wrong. I should be dead. I was going to be dead. The only reason I'm not is because someone decided I still had something worth offering. If I'm not doing something then I might as well just lay back down and be done with it.

Should and was are pointless. Doing something is pointless if it is only for the sake of doing. And you wonder why it goes awry.

And I'm not going back to pretending to be the aloof rich asshole while "someone else" runs around in my armor.

I knew a guy back home who'd been a public figure his whole life. Rich tabloid playboy, bad shit happened, realized his family was doing shady shit, became a superhero. He did the pretending thing.

Then again he killed a lot more people than you probably do.
