[ when it came to his bond with Tony, his at least, things were more than a little complicated and he never really knew how to fix things. but he still cared and considered Tony one of his friends and teammates. the Avengers would not be the same without Tony and he only wished the man believed in himself more. something Steve really couldn't harp on about because how often did he doubt his own place in things or his role as a leader? he never really wanted to be a leader in the first place and only wanted to serve his country, something he managed and put down his life for. being apart of upholding the USA liberties meant everything to him but things were different now, murkier around the edges. during his seventy odd years on ice, America had lost its way and the governments of the world wanted to do things they really shouldn't have a hand in.
it meant they had to fight. it seemed everything always boiled down to a fight, didn't it? but in every fight someone needed to lead the fray and it fell onto Steve's shoulders - the First Avenger - the man with a plan. if only they knew just how honestly lost he felt beyond the calls to arms.
looking at Tony, he wondered how different his time must be and what sort of bond he shared with his Steve. that seemed so odd and it would take a while for his mind to wrap around and accept it.
captain salty? innuendo? well, both Tony's liked to make him uncomfortable, didn't they? as if he missed some grand joke of some kind. letting out a breath, his eyes drifted over towards the temple again. they really needed to get a move on. ]
I wonder if that's -- [ he broke off to give a curt nod of his head. yes, they needed to find out what the temple held and if it had anything to do with the troublesome deity. ]

[ with a slight smile, he started off in the direction of the temple, feeling the tendrils of unease strengthen the closer he moved in. ] Try to not be too showy, will you?
