[ He laughs abruptly at the thought-- the truth makes it a humorous statement, since Jean-Claude was a nobleman's son's whipping boy-- and despite his considerable self-control, some of his nature trickles through with the laugh. It is almost impossibly beautiful, melodic, while being entirely masculine.

Regardless, he is not about to tell him one way or the other. He's left smiling in what some people (read: Anita) consider an insufferable fashion. ]


Why, you pay me such a compliment. Truthfully, I came to America, rather than left France. [ Okay, sort of. It was both, but he does in fact like America.

Vampires are so delightfully legalized there, after all. ]
