ii. MONSTER MISCALCULATION
[ Fighting comes almost as naturally to Gamora as breathing. However, that doesn't mean she finds the carnivorous plants currently slithering towards her anything more than annoying.

Her reactions are quick, immediate as a bundle of vines snaps out across the ground, wrapping itself around Gamora's ankle, only to find her sword slicing the tendril before it can clamp down. She kicks away the now-limp plant, spinning on her heel to be greeted by a mass of vines and leaves spreading across the ground and progressively speeding towards her — and anyone else unfortunate enough to be in the line of fire.

She cuts down a second, a third vine as they try to make contact again, and she looks up just in time to see a brilliant red flower spit in her direction. Acid flies by her head, nearly catching a stray curl as she ducks on instinct. A quick glance in her periphery shows she's not the only intended prey for the flowers, and one more glob of acid is hurled to her right, and before she can even move to knock the other unlucky target out of the way, she barks a quick, ]

Get down!

iii. WARK TIME
[ Here's the thing: Gamora really would rather not kill the giant fluffy birds. In fact, she would rather not engage them, period, but given the way they're stampeding throughout the city, that starts to make them incredibly difficult to avoid — and they're large enough and hostile enough to make them a threat to the more innocent bystanders who can neither outrun the creatures nor defend themselves from the... whatever they are. She's at least seen stranger things in her universe, and by comparison, the chocobos are more on the absurd than disgusting side, so.

Manageable.

But they're still big and loud, and when she has the misfortune of finding herself between a pair of squawking, snapping birds, she's making the very conscious choice not to just cut them down then and there.

(She might have been inclined otherwise, if she wasn't aware of the fact that they're clearly acting irregularly, and so it seems that wrangling them is a better solution.) ]

We can do this the easy way or the hard way.

[ One of the birds paws at the dirt with its large talons, before opening its beak to shriek at her.

Gamora glares right back at it, flat and unimpressed. ]

You won't like the hard way, I assure you.

[ ... Can the bird even understand her?

Probably not, given the way it suddenly lunges with its thick, sharp beak, while the second looks on and continues to squawk with the same aggression as the first. But instead of letting herself take the brunt of the chocobo's attack, she sidesteps the oversized bird, reaching out to clamp her arms around its head –
one behind its neck, the other curled over its beak.

... It clearly does not approve.

The chocobo immediately tries to struggle out of her grip, screeching and flapping its wings, but she keeps it steady (while ensuring it won't accidentally snap its own neck).

The downside of this strategy is that, while one is restrained, the other takes the opportunity to also attack.

... She's absolutely going to need an additional set of hands here. ]
