I don't fault them, I'm just as guilty, but simply remaining here, with no protest, is an escape in itself. And why not? Here, we have relative peace, at least in contrast to the turmoil from which many of us were pulled, or we were at the brink of death, some of us. If and when our benefactors work out sending us home, it will be to the precise moment from which we departed. Staying here, we miss nothing. It's downright seductive in its allure, isn't it?
