swipes: a friendr meme

Any new arrival to the city has seen the ad for a free app popping up on their devices, and anyone who's been around for a while probably has a profile and has used it a bit. It's almost universal in the city - Friendr, a friend-finder and/or dating app. If characters choose to install it, they will fill out a short bio and parameters for what they're looking for, upload a snap of themselves, and then proceed to browse for matches. This is a typical swipe-left-or-right type app. The default color scheme can be seen below, but the Friendr app has a wide variety of themes, so feel free to customize with colors and patterns as you see fit, but do not remove the credit line out of respect for the creator of the code.

The technical term is hyperthaumaturgical degradation, at least as far as one we've come up with. Basically the magic eats away at your brain after all, causes strokes and all other manner of things like that.

Fair point. I'm not in much of a world saving habit, but I do think it's better to be prepared. You know, for any kind of worst case scenario.

[ The flash of panic in Skye's eyes and the quiet that follows has Wally worried he's misinterpreted what it is she was offering. Each tick of time that goes by without her saying anything feels like forever and allows his anxiety to rise to the point he wants to desperately rush out some form of an apology about how much of an idiot he is and how this was a terrible idea to avoid the embarrassment of having her do it. All that is stopping the apology from becoming a reality is the knowledge her hand still remains in his.

The fact she hasn't pulled away just yet is enough to get him to do something he isn't known for doing; he waits. Ignoring what his impulses are telling him and the way his heart is pounding in his chest, he patiently stands there with his eyes locked on hers doing nothing until she can find whatever response she is looking for.

When she does, the nervousness and fear in it are obvious, but it's a positive one all things considered, and the breath he didn't know he was holding comes out as a relieved laugh. ]

Skye, I'm pretty sure I'm the disaster here. [ Then he adds with a little more humor: ] I mean, you haven't even seen me try to dance yet.

[ His lack of rhythm isn't the kind of disaster either one of them is talking about. She's just as afraid she's going to find some way to screw this up as he is. They both might want to give this a chance, but it's clear neither one of them is ready to dive headfirst into it. It's something that is going to take patience on both of their parts if it's going to work out. With that in mind, one side of his mouth lifts up into a lopsided smile that is somehow both reassuring and earnest at once. ]
