Harry Goodsir has been unsuccessfully trying to catch one of those little reptiles for days, but he thinks he's hit upon an idea. He acquired some fish heads from the grocery store, and he's hoping that their eyes will prove to be appealing bait. He's on his way home from this errand when he sees the girl trying to capture one of the creatures in question—an excellent opportunity, he decides, to see if this is going to work.
He takes a fish head out of the bag and waves in the air, trying to attract the creature's attention with that and a short sharp whistle.
