The name is a little... on the nose, I think. It's a way of traveling to other worlds. I don't know much about the science of it, I'll admit. Just that you dial and step through. Every gate has its own access code. But the gates go by a lot of names, depending on the planet. Some people call them ancestral rings. Some don't have a name for it.

I thought the portal here might be-- related somehow. But they weren't exactly eager to give me a chance to investigate it.
