[Clark could in theory, but definitely wouldn't. It would simply never occur to him to hurt Chris, to treat him even remotely like he'd been by others. No child should have had to endure what Chris had, and he would be damned if he didn't do everything in his power to give the boy the kind of life a child should have. Warmth, and family, a safe home and a certainty of being loved, instead of pain and loneliness.
