He'd already expected Alex, had she been here, to come into his room as if it were her own. It was the way that they were in the end. She invaded his personal space, and he let her. Let her do whatever she wanted, take whatever she wanted so long as she was there. Since finding Coralee, there had been little in all this for him. Little, but there had been Alex. Of course questions were answered (not nearly to his satisfaction), but the further down this rabbit hole they went the more Richard seemed to be losing control of his logical armor. The more demons and sacred geometry seemed to consume their waking world and invaded his carefully crafted life. And now, he needed to know where this all ended.
Of course, none of that mattered right now. In this delusion that seemed to have no exit, for now. What mattered was the woman in front of him and figuring out the answers to how this happened and what he could do to fix it. First, however, the basics. With his free hand, he reached for his coffee, not saying a word until it was resting against his lips. "One bed then?" It was more to gauge Alex's reaction than anything else. Not that he'd mind it if she agreed, but the potential tinging in her cheeks was too entertaining to resist.
