At this point, Alex would say that there were few things left that could surprise her. After all, she definitely had been kidnapped (for the second time) but this time to a moon where all of the things that she'd thought were imaginatings were actually true. Even the ones that she didn't want to be, though she had yet to actually meet a demon here. No small part of her was just assuming that this was only going to be a matter of time before one showed up.
But Richard Strand hugging her back, and actually hugging her back and not just giving her an awkward sort of bro hug combined with a clearing of his throat to get her to let go? Well, that was something that could surprise her. That did surprise her. But more than that, it was the way he'd spoken her name. Dr. Richard Strand, with his multiple PhDs from Yale (including at least one in being an ass) had said Alex's name many many ways over the course of their three years together, but she'd never heard him say it quite like that. It certainly made her grip him all the more tightly for it.
His whisper got one of her own, a tiny little confession that she didn't think he'd have heard before, the same tone that she'd used when she'd asked him to run away with her, in his past and in her future. "I was so worried that I was never going to see you again. I can't believe you're here." And because there's a small part of her that is more than a little worried that he's not and this is some sort of ghost or hologram thing, Alex just moves up on her toes and kisses him softly and gently. It's a bare brush of a kiss, because she didn't know if she'd get the chance to do it again.
