Probably wouldn't work, that's why you don't have it. I mean - I can still pop into the ethereal plane but anything more complicated than that doesn't work as well, I dunno if it's a weird side effect of the portal or like... just how this place is? But I do know of one case of someone kinda getting here from a different reality without the portal.
