Alyssa's never seen anything like this before and it just seems like a whole lot of guff, if she's being honest. Like something out of the movies. She's out by the perimeter wall and sizing up the mechs with her hands jammed into the pockets of her jacket. There are a lot of people scrambling around, doing jobs, getting everything ready. Apparently there's some kind of 'invasion' going on? Who knows.
She pulls her hands out of her jackets and strides up to the nearest mech, reaching out to run a palm up the cold metal. How big are these things anyway? She can't imagine how they're supposed to get anything done without smashing everything to shit.)
So is this supposed to be like Transformers, or something?
She can see James being really interested in it, though. He's kind of like that. That's why it's so annoying that he isn't here, because if he was they could go into the caves together and she could hold his hand. Maybe they could find a corner to snog in. Who knows. It doesn't matter, because he isn't here, and she doesn't want to go into the dark alone.
She's sitting just outside on a rock with her arms folded across her chest, watching happy couples enter the caves, and flipping them off behind their backs.)

(Phones might be crap, but they're pretty good for getting the word out.)
