[ He's seen a lot of weird things, but the porgs are not familiar to him. Their large, staring eyes and round bodies are what a lot of people consider cute, but it takes Christian some time to warm up to the little creatures. Mostly because he's not sure that innocent appearance isn't just an act.
After studying the scattered groups of porgs from afar for a few days, he finally goes up to one that happens to be perching on the edge of a low-hanging awning, looking up at it with raised eyebrows. ]
Hello. [ Might as well start out with a polite greeting. ] Are you edible?
iii. mistleglow
[ Christian isn't familiar with the whole glowing light effects. He finds himself caught off guard, because who's going to look around for floating hedge clippings? Once he gets stuck, Christian just sighs, turning to the unfortunate person that has happened to get stuck with him. The knowledge of what needs to be done to get free almost seems like a joke. He puts on as harmless a smile as he can for his new friend. ]
Uh, hey, can I borrow you for a moment?
[ Awkward as ever. ]
vi. snow tricks
[ Snow and cold is actually very helpful for magic users from Christian's world. Like layers of clothes, it soaks up the energy and helps extend the reach of spells and enchantments, so of course he has to take the opportunity to exercise that power. People out in the park or by the river will see a man building small snowmen in the open fields or by the banks, topping their shoulders with birds made of dead leaves and sticks for wings and beaks. And then he moves his hand over them and the piles of snow begin to tighten and reshape, gaining smoother form and looking almost alive. The wings flutter and the beaks chirp, and one of the snowmen even bows to a passerby as a flurry blows over it. ]

Merry Christmas to you, too.
