Alex was an expert in unconvincing smiles, and she leaned against the wall next to him, looking out at the area where the ghosts were supposed to be. The idea of ghosts of people she knew wasn't one that she wanted to experience; there were too many literal ones in her closet and it made her swallow heavily to think it. But Alex's smile was easier, and she moved a little closer to him out of concern.

"I like M.R. James, but I think Hamlet is my favorite all time ghost story. Followed by A Turn of the Screw." Alex was clearly attempting to distract Peter from what was going down, and she's normally good at it, even if the idea of ghosts is putting her on edge.
