[On the outside the building looks the same, the sign reads General Store, like it always did and there was nothing remarkable to note except that where it stood now in this small strip mall of stores it looked worn down. Compared to the bright lights and shiny new buildings in the Quarantine, the store looked out of place there, wedged in the middle as if someone had simply built the other stores up around it.
The only notable difference on the outside was that over the door, on the building itself were the words REPAIR SHOP, as if the General Store sign didn't exist at all. Inside the building the shelves were the same, although stocked with more modern and useful items for a place like this. The terminal remained, the counters where cash registers should go were still bare.
Behind the counter was Ed, who hadn't even looked up from the map he was working on, frowning thoughtfully over his work. The chances of anyone walking in that wasn't Al or a friend stopping by to say hi were pretty slim, no one needed the general store in Riverview and he knew that - but it gave them somewhere to store things for repairs and that was something that people always needed.]
